PUTNAM COUNTY

Putnam County is a small,10-mile wide county within 50 miles of New York City, just North of the New York City suburb of Westchester County. Because of its proximity to Manhattan, many Putnam County residents commute to work in New York City. Putnam County therefore has a significant population of middle and upper managers, who come to the County for housing that is slightly less expensive than in Westchester.
